Grulla National Wildlife Refuge at 1531 County Road 1248, Muleshoe, Texas.

There's a stark beauty to this place. It's a decent place to go hiking for a few hours. It's very quiet and peaceful. If you plan your visit at the right time in the spring or fall you may see migrating waterfowl or cranes on the salt flat lake but otherwise it's generally pretty quiet. There's also quite a few wildflowers to enjoy in the summer. If you plan to go be aware that there are no facilities here - only a dirt parking lot.
